Privacy

Short version: this website does not track you and does not keep a database of users. You can log in with Patreon, but I do not store your data on the server. Your progress stays on your own phone or computer.

Who am I?

This website is made by JoJo, Makkelijk Nederlands met JoJo, Gullringen, Sweden. Contact: joelbeunis@gmail.com.

What is saved on your device

The flashcards and the online worksheets save your progress in your own browser (local storage): which words you know, the words you marked as hard, your worksheet answers and, if you log in, your first name and a key that opens the flashcards and worksheets. This information stays on your device. It is never sent to me. You can delete it at any time by clearing your browser data for this website.

Log in with Patreon

Friends of the show can log in with their Patreon account. Patreon then tells this website your Patreon user ID, your name and whether you are a member of Makkelijk Nederlands met JoJo. This website does not ask for your email address and never sees your Patreon password. This information is not stored on the server. It is kept in one encrypted cookie in your own browser, so the website can remember that you are logged in. The cookie is valid for up to one year. When you log out, the cookie is deleted. You can also remove the access in your Patreon settings under "Connected apps". Patreon's own privacy policy applies to your Patreon account.

No tracking, no analytics

This website does not use analytics, advertising cookies or tracking pixels. The fonts are on this website itself, so they are not loaded from Google.

Spotify player

Episode pages show a Spotify player. This player is loaded from Spotify. Spotify can then set cookies and collect information, as described in the Spotify privacy policy. Links to YouTube, Patreon, Buy Me a Coffee, Apple Podcasts and Instagram take you to those websites, where their own privacy policies apply.

Hosting

This website is hosted by Namecheap. Like every web server, their server keeps short technical logs, such as IP addresses and browser types, for security and to keep the website running.

Email

If you send me an email, I only use your email address to answer you.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask what personal data I have about you, and ask me to delete it. Send an email to joelbeunis@gmail.com. You can also file a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).
